Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday (January 24) directed the relevant authorities to resolve Special Economic Zones (SEZs) problems on a priority basis to facilitate investors, according to media reports.

PM Khan chaired a meeting on SEZs and was briefed about the steps taken by the government to facilitate investors. The meeting was attended by Chairman China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Azfar Ahsan, Federal Ministers Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Hammad Azhar, National Security Advisor Dr Moeed Yusuf, and senior officials.

Moreover, the meeting attendees were informed that the Allama Iqbal Industrial Cities, Bolan, and Rashakai SEZs are fully operational and work is progressing on the construction of industries. The attendees were also briefed that the work on Dhabeji SEZ is progressing at a steady pace and it will soon be operational. During the meeting, PM Khan was briefed on the land available for industries in SEZ.
