Beijing: Pakistan Ambassador to China Moin Ul Haque has revealed that Pakistan would soon share details with the Chinese investors on the ‘investment potential’ offered by the country’s special economic zones (SEZs), a news source reported on Thursday (September 10). Haque said this during a recent interview with Chinese news website ‘China Economic Net’.

Responding to a question, he said that out of the nine special economic zones (SEZs) identified under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), three are now at advanced development stages and thus pose great investment opportunities for Chinese investors.
The ambassador further mentioned that the tariff reduction arrangements under the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed between the two countries – officially implemented in January this year – allows duty-free access of 300 items between the two countries and therein lies the various opportunities for traders, he said.

Moreover, Haque was hopeful that the trade activities among the two countries will grow more in the coming future. This is in addition to the fact that Pakistan is committed to build an industrial cluster so as to improving its infrastructure and facilitate the Chinese industries looking to relocate across the border.
