Sewerage pipe installations were previously planned for a majority of union councils, including the Wagah, Nishter, Aziz Bhatti, and Allama Iqbal zones. However, this work has not been carried out so far. Various union councils in Wagah, in particular, require new pipe networks on an emergency basis.
Wagah Zone’s Union Councils 178 Manawan, 189 Barki, 179 Lakhan Sharif, 190 Hadiyara, 137 Shadipura, and 130 Madina Colony currently face stark sanitation problems. According to union council representatives, work has not been initiated due to a lack of funds.
In Nishter Zone, new sewerage lines are lacking in several areas.
In all of the zones mentioned, sewerage water continues to leak out into the streets; causing problems for residents.
