Karachi: During his inspection of various ongoing development projects in Karachi, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday said that the government had launched seven new uplift schemes worth PKR 1.714 billion in the city, according to news reports. These uplift projects were recently launched in addition to the ongoing 17 schemes for which the government previously allocated funds worth PKR 10.76 million.

For the new schemes, the executive has allocated funds worth PKR 248.340 million for the rehabilitation of the I I Chundrigar Road, PKR 190 million for fixing of traffic signal, gantries, signboards, indication boards and beautification of the University Road, M A Jinnah Road and Peoples Chowrangi, several million rupees for the beautification of Shahr-i-Pakistan, M T Khan Road, and Rashid Minhas Road, PKR 500 million for the construction of a wide road between Manghopir Road and Shahrah-i-Qadhafi, and PKR 260 million for the provision of signboards around the city.

The chief minister said that his government was committed to providing residents with the best infrastructural facilities and services in order for making their lifestyles much comfortable.
