Lahore: For developing affordable houses and apartments in Lahore under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP), the authorities concerned have identified land measuring several thousands of kanals at seven different locations – a news source reported.

The officials concerned have identified 1,000 kanals in Mohlanwal-I and 2,000 kanals in Mohlanwal-II, 1,000 kanals in Kamahan, 54 kanals in Harbanspura-I and 26 kanals in Harbanspura-II, 30 kanals at Thokar Niaz Baig-I and 35 kanals at Thokar Niaz Baig-II.
As per reports, several hundred kanals of land identified for setting up the said project belongs to the Punjab Cooperative Board for Liquidation (PCBL) and other state enterprises. The departments concerned will commence the procurement process after obtaining approval from the authorities concerned.

Previously, Punjab Housing Secretary Naseem Sadiq had directed the city administration to identify the land for launching the NPHP project – announced by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan to address the country’s housing shortfall – in the provincial capital.
