The first phase of action was launched recently against non-complying service stations and five stations were sealed. Meanwhile, according to WASA sources, three service stations adjacent to Murree Road have installed recycling plants. However, the operation will continue until all the service stations install the plants.
WASA had previously allowed 100 sealed service stations to begin operations again on the promise that they will establish water recycling plants. WASA authorities had sealed the 100 service stations in the city on Supreme Court’s orders for the conservation of water, because they didn’t have water recycling plants. However, after meeting with the owners, the services stations had temporarily been unsealed on the promise that water recycling plants will be installed within a month.
