CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed recently directed the authority’s Engineering Wing to prepare a comprehensive traffic diversion plan for the commuters at Faisal Avenue. For this purpose, the CDA officials should consult with the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) and CDA’s Transport & Traffic Planning Directorate (T&TP), he further stated.
Previously, the officials concerned had begun the earthwork on the Service Road (West). To commence with the initial excavation work on the underpass (expected to begin this weekend), the civic agency will direct traffic on to this service road coming weekend.
In the next phase, the CDA will begin the expansion work of Service Road (East) in Sector G-8. It will then divert the traffic from Zero Point and Kashmir Highway on to it. People traveling towards Margalla Road, Jinnah Avenue, and Faisal Mosque will use the Service Road (East).
