Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to roll out a separate Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for Southern Punjab in the upcoming fiscal year 2021-22 (FY-22), news sources reported. It was also suggested to allocate PKR 28 billion for the South Punjab public sector program in the upcoming provincial budget.

Moreover, the federal government will allocate an additional amount of PKR 17 billion for the road sector department in addition to the provincially allocated budget. Additionally, the federal government will allocate separate funds for the southern region of the province.
According to the sources in the Punjab revenue department, it is suggested to allocate PKR 440 million for the irrigation and clean water schemes separately. At the same time, the federal government will give PKR 150 million for the power sector development under PSDP to South Punjab.

Additionally, the Punjab revenue department has also decided to increase the annual traffic violation challan targets on the ring road for the upcoming year. The new target is raised to PKR 110 million for FY22. Previously, in the last fiscal year, the ring road police generated PKR 8.5 million in revenue from traffic violation challans.
