Lahore: The Punjab Police has decided to form a separate unit to assist and protect tourists under the Prime Minister’s tourism promotion policy – a news source reported.
According to details, Inspector General Arif Nawaz has prepared a summary detailing the contours of the separate unit and it will be sent to the Chief Minister for approval in a few days.

The units will be formed in 36 districts of Punjab and would provide protection to the visiting tourists. Additionally, officials will be directed to fully cooperate with the special unit for the resolution of any issues that the tourists may face.

The unit will also be assigned a special badge to designate them as the members of that particular unit. Initially, all the RPOs, DPOs, CPOs and DIGs will head the unit.
