Karachi: Sindh Minister for Environment Nawabzada Muhammad Talpur has instructed the Sindh Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) to implement its rules regarding industrial units, reported a news source. He paid a surprise visit to the agency’s office on Monday.

Speaking to SEPA officials, Talpur said that the SEPA regulations for controlling environmental pollution in industrial units should to be implemented. He also instructed the officials to launch operations against owners of industries failing to comply with these rules. He also instructed the staff to not bother the owners of industries following SEPA regulations.

The provincial minister also instructed the officers to ensure that their staff is present in the office. He also announced the launch of a crackdown against owners of pollution-causing factories. Talpur advised the factory owners to install water treatment plants to help protect marine life.

In his message to the factory owners, Talpur said that he would attend to the complaints regarding unfair attitude of SEPA employees. He encouraged the industrialists and factory owners to share their SEPA-related concerns directly with him.
