Karachi: The Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) on Tuesday issued an Environmental Protection Order (EPO to halt the construction of a building on Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Karachi Phase-VIII, according to news sources.

As per the details revealed, the development firm concerned has been served this EPO over its failure to submit the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report to the authorities concerned. The firm was expected to submit its response on not complying with the SEPA Act, 2014, on February 15.

SEPA Director General Naeem Ahmed Mughal revealed that since the company has not submitted its documents, the construction work of the building on Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue in DHA is restricted until the environmental approval is granted to the project.
