Islamabad: A parliamentary panel has decided to clarify the details regarding a liquefied natural gas (LNG) contract with Qatar, according to news sources. The Ministry of energy was directed to share all the details of the agreement.
The panel which asked for the details of this USD 15 billion contract was the Senate Standing Committee on Petroleum and was chaired by Senator Mohsin Aziz. The contract was signed on February 10, 2016 and the price set under the agreement was 13.37% of Brent crude oil price. LNG contributes to 6 % of Pakistan’s energy mix.
