Lahore: While chairing a meeting regarding the Sehat Insaf Card programme, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar stated that the scope of the health initiative would gradually be expanded to benefit more people, including government employees, students, teachers, journalists and other segments of society — according to a news source published on November 6.

Reportedly, the Sehat Insaf Cards have been issued to over 5.1 million deserving families in the initial phase of the project. The initiative is aimed to facilitate the poor by offering them the best healthcare facilities available. The CM opined that the best health treatment was the right of every citizen and warned that any negligence in the delivery of this programme would not be tolerated.

The said meeting was attended by the Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Special Assistant Firdous Ashiq Awan, Planning and Development Chairman, Secretary Specialised Healthcare and Secretary Finance.
Previously, Minister Rashid had stated that “In accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and CM Buzdar, universal health coverage will be provided to all of Punjab”. She had also said that the aforementioned health cards would distributed in three phases.
