Lahore: The Punjab government has taken measures to improve security and surveillance capability in private housing societies approved by Lahore Development Authority (LDA), according to a news story published on Wednesday (February 2). The CCTV cameras of the private housing will be connected with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA).

PSCA Chief Operating Officer DIG Kamran Khan on Tuesday (February 1) chaired a meeting with the representatives of the housing societies. As per the details, in the first phase, the already installed cameras in 50 housing societies will be linked to the authority.
Moreover, the meeting was held for the implementation of standard policy guidelines approved by the LDA for integration of surveillance system with the Punjab Police Integrated Command, Control and Communication Centre.

The operating officer mentioned that the Ring Road and Mass Transit Authority has already agreed to integrate cameras with the authority. He further added that the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) has also given its consent. Reportedly, the authority will share security audits and experiences with the private housing societies.
