Lahore: Provincial Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs, & Social Welfare Raja Basharat on Tuesday ordered the city’s law-enforcement agencies to arrange foolproof security measures prior to the launch of the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) project in the city, a news source reported.

Chairing a meeting of the cabinet’s Sub-committee on Law & Order at the Civil Secretariat, the minister said that the law-enforcement agencies should ensure that all requisite security arrangements had been made, as the government was going to initiate the OLMT operations in Lahore.
Previously, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Sumair Ahmad Syed had ordered the departments concerned to use all resources available to make the OLMT project operational without further delays. He had also directed the contractors to finish the development work before the commercial launch of the project.

Earlier in December 2019, Punjab Minister for Transport Muhammad Jehanzaib Khan Khichi had inaugurated the trial run for OLMT.
