Islamabad: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Wednesday issued directions for the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to launch residential Sector F-13 for low-income groups in addition to developing stalled sectors, according to news sources.

The said instructions were given during the minister’s maiden visit to the civic agency, when he revealed that the new Sector F-13 will be launched on March 23. Minister Rasheed further revealed that this new project will feature flats for the people belonging to labour class. He also lauded the performance of the incumbent CDA management.

Moreover, in his press briefing, Ahmed stated that a decision had been made to develop 7th Avenue Interchange on its intersection with Srinagar Highway (near Aabpara), restore I J Principal Road, and accelerate development work on Islamabad Expressway. He also announced that all 240 parks of the city would be renovated within two months.
Additionally, it was announced that the slum dwellers who are residing in the shanty settlements of Sectors F-6 and F-7 will be shifted to I-9 and Farash Town.
