Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has retrieved 80 kanals of land in Sector E-12 from encroachers, reported a news source.
The owners were allotted plots here three decades ago and they struggled during all that while to get possession of their plots. Over 4,000 plots in E-12 were allotted to CDA employees and federal government employees in 1987. CDA, however, couldn’t hand over possession to the owners.
Commenting on the delay, CDA officials said that corrupt practices in the system caused owners to suffer. The new CDA management is working keenly to develop the ignored sectors on a priority basis. In this regard, CDA Chairman Aamer Ali Ahmed directed the relevant officials to remove the hurdles causing delay in initiating development work.
Speaking at the occasion, Islamabad Commissioner said that the CDA will acquire possession of another 1,000 kanals in a few days. In the meanwhile, development on the acquired land will be begin soon. CDA vows to develop the sector as soon as possible.
