Section 5 of the Land Acquisition Act allows the commissioner to designate a price of land for public use through a notification. The section also provides the public a month to submit their objections on the matter.
Earlier this month, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) had shortlisted five firms for the construction of the Firdous Market Underpass. These firms include MAAKSONS, National Logistic Cells (NLC), IKAN Engineering, Sarwar Bhatti & Company, and Habib Construction Company.
