Lahore: Commissioner Lahore Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Usman on Monday (December 14) enacted Section 6 of the Land Acquisition Act 1894 to start the land acquisition for LDA City Chenab Road project, news sources reported. A total of 388 kanals and 16 marlas of land will be acquired from Mouza Thay Panju of the Lahore district for the project.

According to the shared information, officials have agreed to widen Chenab Road to 200 feet at a cost of PKR 670 million, with a completion deadline of one year. After the project is completed, the Jinnah Sector will be directly connected to Ferozepur Road near the Lahore Ring Road.

In another development, Lahore Mayor (retired) Col Mubashir Javed approved PKR 284.4 million in road infrastructure development projects in nine zones of Lahore. The tenders for the 11 road projects have been released, and interested parties are invited to submit their bids by December 21. The tenders will be opened on December 22, with work orders to be issued on the same day.
