Peshawar: Section 4 regulations imposed on real estate transactions in various mouzas of the city are to be removed, reported a news source. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Peshawar Nazim Muhammad Asim Khan to discuss matters related to the provincial Revenue Department.

The meeting was attending by Peshawar Deputy Commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh, Director General Coordination Mian Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Revenue Department Assistant Commissioner Naseer Khan, Deputy Director Property Kamran Khan Bangash, District Member Taqdeer Ali, Finance Officer Alamgir Khan, and District Planning Officer Amir Khan.

The members had a detailed discussion on strategies to improve performance of the revenue department. They also deliberated on the Section 4 ordinance enacted in various mouzas in Peshawar in the past. Removal of Section 4 will allow property owners to sell and purchase property without facing any challenges.

Matters related to putting district government property to use were also discussed during the session. In addition, a plan to retrieve government land from illegal occupants, and conducting operations against encroachers, was also finalized.

Addressing the meeting, Peshawar District Nazim said that the local government will continue to play its role in fixing matters that concern the performance of the Revenue Department, and providing services to the public in patwarkhanas. In this regard, a meeting will be held every quarter, he added.
