Quetta: The Balochistan government has imposed Section 144 in the province keeping in view the forecasts of heavy rains, according to news published on July 13.

The government has imposed a ban on recreational activities to ensure safety and to prevent monsoon-related calamities. Under Section 144, all activities near water bodies, dams, and rivers will be banned. As per the details, swimming in water streams and rivers, and picnicking near water bodies will not be allowed. It was disclosed that the ban will remain for a month.
Moreover, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will provide relief goods including de-watering pumps and family tents to rain affectees throughout the province. It is important to note that the monsoon spell in Sindh and Balochistan broke a 30-year record this year.

Chief Minister (CM) Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo mentioned that he was getting updates from the PDMA on the situation in Lasbela after monsoon rains. He also stated that relief and rescue activities are underway in upper Chitral.
