Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi district administration has enforced Section 144 to stop people from dumping garbage into Nullah Leh, as reported by a news source on June 21.

According to the details, Deputy Commissioner Hasan Waqar Cheema stated that this measure is crucial for ensuring the thorough cleaning of Nullah Leh and the city’s drains before the monsoon rains start. During an emergency visit to Nullah Leh, Deputy Commissioner Cheema, along with Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director Salim Ashraf, inspected the ongoing cleaning operations. They reviewed the preparations for potential flooding during the monsoon.

The deputy commissioner stressed the importance of completing the cleaning of Nullah Leh before the monsoon rains arrive. He pointed out that special attention needs to be given to the city drains and their low points, which are often prone to blockages and overflow during heavy rains.
