Islamabad: Secretaries from 12 federal ministries will attend the National Judicial Policymaking Committee (NJPC) on Saturday to explain the mechanisms evolved for dispute resolution on CPEC projects, according to a news report. The meeting will be chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar.
The report detailed that secretaries from ministries/divisions of Foreign Affairs, Interior, Law and Justice, Planning and Development, Board of Investment, Railways, Communication, Maritime Affairs, Power and Petroleum, FBR chairman and CPEC Project Director were invited to the meeting.
The report explained that the reason behind the need for thorough dispute resolution mechanism arises because there are quite a few CPEC projects worth billions of dollars which involve Chinese and other foreign companies.
This meeting involving secretaries from various federal ministries to discuss the dispute resolution mechanisms for CPEC projects is significant. It shows the commitment to address issues in projects involving significant investments from both China and other foreign companies.
