Islamabad: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 1,760 new companies in April 2023, out of which 228 were registered in Real Estate & Construction sector, a news source reported on May 11. The total number of registered companies was brought to 191,924.

The total paid-up capital of the companies registered in April was PKR 2.9 billion. As per the details, 57% of businesses registered were private limited companies, 41% were single-member businesses, and 2% were limited liability partnerships unlisted public companies, and not-for-profit organisations. It was mentioned that 99.8% were registered online and 70 were foreign applicants.

The news source disclosed that the Information Technology sector had 267 companies registered, Real Estate & Construction had 228, Trading had 222, Services had 194, Food & Beverages had 93, E-commerce had 68, Education had 62, Tourism 53, Textile 52, Marketing & Advertisement and Agricultural Farming has 42 each, Engineering has 36, Healthcare had 33, Chemical has 31, Pharmaceutical and Power Generation had 30 each, Mining & Quarrying has 27, Cosmetics & Toiletries had 24, Auto & Allied had 22, Broadcasting & Telecasting had 20, Communications and Fuel & Energy had 19 each, Transport had 17, Lodging had 15, Cables & Electrical Goods had 15, Paper & Board had 11, and other sectors had 87.
