Islamabad: The civic agency has plans to construct the second largest park in Zone-III, north of Sector D-12 along Margalla Road, according to the news story published in the leading newspaper on May 11.

As per the details, the Environment Wing and Revenue Directorate of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) have begun to install markers of land. An official of the CDA environment wing revealed that the authority has decided to use 2,000-kanal (out of the 4,000-kanal unused land) in Zone III for the park.
Moreover, the official mentioned that the federal government has asked the city managers to set up a new park to provide better recreational facilities for the locals. He further added that the park will spread across 155 acres, making it the second-largest park. The largest park in the capital city is Fatima Jinnah Park (F-9 park), which spans over 750 acres.
The Revenue Directorate officer revealed that the demarcation of land has been completed. After the demarcation of land, the area has been handed over to Park Directorate. He went on to say that 400 boundary pillars have also been installed around the park.

Reportedly, the civic agency has directed the concerned wing to prepare PC-1 for the park and after its approval, initiate the tendering process. The said park will feature a horticulture area jogging tracks, multi-purpose sports facilities, and a kid’s playing area.
