Peshawar: The President of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Sherbaz Bilour has urged the federal government to create a business-friendly environment by introducing incentives for the business community in the upcoming budget, according to a news source.

The SCCI highlighted that the traders should be exempted from taxes with their property rents, utility bills and slump sum rebate on overall taxes per case to be waived off.
Bilour said that the SCCI is looking for a financial relief package especially for businesses adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The SCCI said that this will create a business-friendly favorable climate and competitive environment among local and foreign investors.

Bilour also highlighted the need to re-evaluate special exemptions being offered to foreign investors, to keep local industries and investors competitive and generate revenue, and have also proposed special tax concessions with a ratio of 15 to 20%.
He also said that the SCCI has proposed National Database Registration Authority’s (NADRA) data to be utilised for identifying potential taxpayers.
