Peshawar: Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Maqsood Anwar Pervaiz on Monday urged the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to postpone the implementation of its point of sale (POS) system for one year to facilitate the business community in light of the ‘significant impact’ of the coronavirus pandemic — a news source reported.

Addressing a meeting of various traders and retailers, the SCCI president revealed that all the tier-I retailers in the city had been asked to integrate with the POS system before August 31. However, he added that businesses had suffered huge losses due the coronavirus lockdown, and that the implementation of the POS system right away would be unjust. As a result, he called for the entire plan to be postponed for a year.
