Peshawar: The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) received a Chinese delegation which appraised the business community about the significance and impact of the Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ), according to a news report published on February 28.

Rashakai SEZ is being developed as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to reports, the delegation informed the SCCI members regarding the investment opportunities and incentive being offered to the business community in the said SEZ. A Chinese official also remarked that Rashakai SEZ is a vital project as it is fully supported by the government of China and its investors.

SCCI President Sherbaz Bilour also addressed the meeting and termed CPEC a ‘shining example of Pak-China friendship – which is striving to bring economic prosperity and development in the entire region’. He said that the SEZ will attract investors from KP and create employment opportunities.
