SCCI President Engineer Maqsood Anwar Pervaiz said that even though the industries were exempted from electricity load shedding, PESCO executed four to six hours’ load shedding on industrial and commercial feeders. He complained that machines and electric appliances were being damaged due to power fluctuation, tripping and low voltage.
The SCCI chief also said that the long power outages were adversely affecting the commercial and business activities. He stressed that in the aftermath of the prolonged lockdown, the industrial and business community cannot afford any other losses.

Furthermore, he said that the small industries provide a livelihood to many workers and if those were to be shut down, thousands of people will be rendered jobless. He urged the power minister and PESCO chief to promptly ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to business and the industrial sectors.
