Karachi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered 300 inquiries on scams the in housing schemes of the metropolis, a news source reported. The Supreme Court had previously instructed FIA to begin taking action against all such cases registered against housing developments.
These cases include instances of grabbing welfare plots, china-cutting, construction of illegal portions, and issues with documentation.

As per reports, the individuals holding offices in the city’s civic agencies during the last fifteen years will be made part of the investigation. FIA has been given the powers of National Accountability Board (NAB) for this purpose, under the directions of the Supreme Court.
All the inquiries have been registered with the FIA anti-corruption circle. 13 officials have been designated for conducting the inquiry – with the team being led by FIA Additional Director Abdus Salam Sheikh. This group will scrutinise the records of all the housing schemes in the city.
