Islmabad: The Supreme Court has directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) to remove barricades in front of two five star hotels, according to a news report. The apex court also made the order to open the road to public.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court chaired by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar pass the order. The barriers had been placed along Khayaban-e-Suhrawardy and Agha Khan Road outside the hotels and the court made instruction to remove all such encroachments of the road and submit compliance report on Thursday.
Last week, the intersection at D-Chowk in front of parliament houses was opened to public for the first time since 2007 when it had closed to public by the then president during the November 2007 emergency.
