Lahore: The Supreme Court (SC) has officially lifted the ban on registration of properties and issuance of fard in Punjab, reported a news source.
The apex court recently notified the Revenue Department to implement its orders with regard to the registration of properties and issuance of fard.

As a result of this ban, registration procedures for as many as 75,000 properties had been put on hold.
Following the implementation of court orders, the process of property registration and issuance of fard will resume in five tehsils of Lahore (including 356 mouzas and 253 patwari circles), according to Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Awais Malik.

Previously (while the ban was still in place), the department had received approximately 100 applications for property registration in Allama Iqbal Zone, 200 in Nishtar Zone, and 50 in Wahga Zone on a daily basis.
Moreover, the ban has caused a loss of PKR 12.5 billion to the Revenue Department
