During the hearing, the SC also ordered to restore the green belt in the area to its original condition. The court stated that nothing can be constructed within 20-feet of the banks of the nullah. It was also mentioned that if one spot on the nullah was blocked, the whole drain will be blocked.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC)’s lawyer, the plots were allotted by PECHS administration. Further, the lawyer added that the shops have narrowed the nullah and authorities are having difficulty in widening it. On the other hand, PECHS lawyer claimed that there are no constructions on the nullah and KMC is misleading.
