Islamabad: The Supreme Court has sought details regarding implementation of the court’s orders on Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) project, a news source reported. A three-judge bench issued the directives to the Punjab Masstransit Authority (PMA).
During the course of proceedings, Justice Hassan asked PMA what part of the project was completed as per court’s orders. He said that the project was supposed to complete on July 31, 2019.
The Additional Advocate General said that the court had ordered the complete of several metro stations. He added that the contractors had complained of lack of funds.

The bench expressed dismay over non-implementation of the court’s orders regarding OLMT project, and ordered the PMA secretary to ensure the implementation on a priority basis.
The court, while appointing Justice (retired) Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman as the mediator between the contractors and the departments concerned, adjourned the hearing for one month.
Chief Justice Saqib Nisar had already warned against any further delays pertaining to the completion and operationalisation of the OLMT project.
