Karachi: The Supreme Court (SC) has given HESCO and K-Electric a week’s deadline to submit affidavits regarding the duration and schedule of load-shedding, according to a news source. This decision was made after the apex court took notice of the electricity shortfall in the two cities, and stated that any outdated systems should be upgraded and all measures should be taken to resolve this issue.
The K-Electric informed the SC that the amount of load-shedding varied from locality to locality. The Chief Justice (CJ) Mian Saqib Nisar stated that any shutting down of power plants by the producers would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken.
