Islamabad: The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to stop the operations of stone crushing units in Margalla Hills National Park. The court directed the authority to mention names of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) officials who had allowed commercial activities at the national park.
According to a news source, a three-member bench of the SC observed that commercial activities were prohibited in the park under the Islamabad Wildlife Protection and Conservation Ordinance.
The CDA officials clarified to the court that the permission to undertake commercial activities in the park was given by the ICT, not the CDA.
