Islamabad: The Surveyor General of Pakistan has been directed by the Supreme Court to provide final reports regarding the boundaries of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, a news source report. A three-bench of the SC, chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, was hearing the case on chopping of trees in the Margalla Hills.
The CJP stated that no interference of the work of Survey of Pakistan will be tolerated since there are a number of places in Margalla Hills where there are territorial disputes between the federal and provincial governments on the boundaries of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The additional attorney general informed the court that the demarcation was being conducted according to 1963 map of the federal capital. He request a week for the work to be completed. The court granted the request and adjourned the hearing for a week.
