Previously, the apex court (SC) had banned this policy in urban areas.
The Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR) plans to make amendments to Section 3 of Punjab Revenue Act in a bid to lift the ban.
According to sources, a summary with respect to the amendments in the relevant law has been dispatched to the law department.
As per reports, the government has incurred heavy losses in the form of transfer fees and recoveries amounting to millions of rupees as a result of the ban, which was imposed some five months and eight days ago. Moreover, the general public has also been facing issues due to non-issuance of fard.
