The equipment will be used for the implementation of an automatic fare collection and intelligent transport system for the city’s Metro Bus Service. CDA engineer Syed Munawar Shah emphasized the considerable financial losses and public grievances brought on by the absence of such systems. He added that the addition of the automated card system would reduce the need for manpower and make the commute more smooth. He said that the letter written to the SBP has asked the central bank to clear the request at the earliest.

However, the system still provides designated stops and waiting areas in addition to the automated fare collection system. The CDA has recently launched a bus service for families that will operate from Bhara Kahu to Murree for a month.
