Islamabad: Pakistan’s exports to the United States grew by 1.62% in the first two months of FY 2024-25, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) statement on September 26.

As per details, the total exports to the US reached USD 949.86 million in July-August 2024, compared to USD 934.67 million in the same period last year. However, on a year-to-year basis, exports to the US in August 2024 dropped to USD 473.84 million, down from USD 494.77 million in August 2023, indicating a slight decline. Month-on-month, exports to the US also saw a small dip of 0.45%, falling from USD 476.02 million in July 2024 to USD 473.84 million in August 2024.
In contrast, Pakistan’s overall exports to the rest of the world rose by 7.18% in the first two months of FY 2024-25, jumping from USD 4.54 billion last year to USD 4.86 billion this year.

On a year-on-year basis, imports from the US in August 2024 climbed to USD 185.61 million, up from USD 176.50 million in August 2023. Month-on-month, imports remained almost steady with a slight decrease of 0.29%, from USD 185.06 million in July 2024 to USD 185.61 million in August 2024. Overall, Pakistan’s imports from all countries saw a 13.82% increase during the first two months of the fiscal year, rising from USD 8.38 billion last year to USD 9.53 billion in 2024-25, as per SBP data.
