Karachi: The Sindh Building Control Authority (SCBA) has decided to launch a crackdown against buildings constructed without related approvals, reported a news source. The authority has started to list down all such buildings and their complete details, along with pictures.

SBCA has found out that most of these illegally constructed buildings are located in Shanti Nagar, Liaqatabad, Manzoor Colony, Orangi Town, Gulbahar, Mehmoodabad and PIB Colony. Some of these areas are also inaccessible for SBCA staff due to security reasons.

To deal with such illegal construction practices, the authority has started to conduct surveys in various areas to list down illegally constructed buildings. The SBCA has leant that building plans for around 50 building in Shanti Nagar hasn’t been approved. Reportedly, the developers of these buildings have also procured connections for electricity, gas and water.

To deal with illegal buildings in the city, the SBCA will need assistance from Pakistan Rangers and Police. Source belief that the crackdown against such buildings is expected to start soon.
