Karachi: The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) will deal with all industrial zones in Karachi as a single zone, according to a news source. SBCA Director General Zafar Ahsan said that this measure was being taken to facilitate the construction of industrial structures.

He revealed this information at the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI); adding that this move will help make processing all construction-related queries much smoother. He emphasised on the importance of industrialisation and expressed his views that it is the best solution to the current problems faced by Pakistan’s economy. He further added that the SBCA was closely working with the World Bank to facilitate the ease-of-doing business in Pakistan, and recently made steady progress towards this goal.

In response, KATI President Sheikh Umar Rehan lauded this step and expressed his opinions on the importance of making industrial construction a smoother and more efficient process. Various stakeholders presented their suggestions to make this process go more smoothly.
To this end, the SBCA DG issued directives stating that a desk should be established at KATI for better coordination with industries and resolving all the construction-related issues faced by them.
