Karachi: The Investment Department Sindh, in collaboration with the World Bank (WB), has initiated work on improving ease-of-doing-business within the province; with the government having directed the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) to halve the approval time frames for Category 1-to-4 building plans, a news source reported. To this effect, the approval time for Category 1 plan submissions has been reduced to 15 days; and 30 days for Categories 2 to 4.

Under this programme, the government departments are also providing online facilities through web-portals. Previously, the SBCA had reduced the approval time of building plans for Category 1 buildings down to 30 days. Now, the time for Category 1 has been halved to 15 days; and 30 days for Categories 2, 3, and 4.

As a part of the programme to improve ease of doing business, the Investment Department Sindh will also provide approvals for businesses at its one-window cell.
