According to the report, the SBCA took legal action against over 1,500 illegal constructions across Sindh, including in all seven districts of Karachi. This represents the highest number of actions against unauthorized buildings in a single year. Many of these operations were conducted under court directives, with over 200 legal petitions successfully resolved.
SBCA Director General Abdul Rasheed Solangi reaffirmed the Sindh Government’s strict policy against illegal structures. Several officials found complicit in illegal activities were suspended, with investigations ongoing. The authority also introduced QR codes at construction sites, enabling public access to project legality details and bolstering transparency.

In 2024, the SBCA approved 2,652 building plans for residential, commercial, industrial, and public projects. A newly launched single-window approval system significantly reduced processing times, and penalties for late industrial payments were waived to restore public trust.
The Technical Committee surveyed 743 dangerous and dilapidated buildings, including 591 in Karachi, and conducted inspections of structures affected by accidental fires. These efforts were part of broader public safety initiatives.
The SBCA also contributed to urban beautification, partnering with the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) and local authorities to enhance Shahrah-e-Faisal. This project received widespread appreciation, prompting plans for similar initiatives in the Korangi Industrial Area.
