The authority has also issued an official notice in this regard. This squad will demolish any illegally constructed portions and buildings brought to its notice.
The SBCA has also shared details on the names of people included in the demolition squad. The building control authority launched its operation against illegal construction practices on the orders of the Supreme Court.
Following the orders of the apex court, the SBCA issued an official notice in May 2017, putting construction work in Karachi at halt. The ban stayed intact for over one a half year, until the Supreme Court of Pakistan lifted it in December 2018.
