Karachi: Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) Director General (DG) Ashkar Dawar has invited direct complaints against illegal constructions in the city, a news source reported on August 10. According to details, the public can visit his office directly to register their complaints.

Dawar’s coordinator Jalil Bhatti stated that the DG would be available to public for registering complaints against illegal constructions in Karachi five days a week. He added that the DG’s office was located on SBCA building’s first floor and visitation hours were set between 11 am and 1 pm from Monday to Thursday and between 11 am and 12 noon on Friday.
To register a complaint to the SBCA DG, visitors need to bring along a photocopy of their CNICs, contact number, and a written copy of the complaint. After registering the complaint, the DG would forward it to the SBCA director concerned of the town. A team of the authority would also have the task of following up with the town director. The aim of the process is to resolve the complaint within 15 days.

Official sources revealed that most of the complaints received pertained to illegal constructions in Gulberg, Liaquatabad, and Jamshed Quarters. They added that the SBCA DG Secretariat was receiving 150 complaints on average during a week.
