Karachi: Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) Director General (DG) Dr Nasim-ul-Ghani Sahito recently directed authority officials to intensify their operations against illegal construction activities in the city’s kachi abadis, according to a news source. As per the publication, the DG gave the orders during a visit to the SBCA Design and Complaint Section.

DG Sahito took the opportunity to reveal that the SBCA was particularly focused on attending to issues faced by the project allottees. In this regard, the authority will coordinate with the relevant builders and ensure that all complaints are thoroughly addressed. Furthermore, he said that the authority staff had also been directed to improve their work efficiency.

Later, the SBCA DG chaired a meeting with all the authority’s directors. He instructed them to scrutinize each building plan approval submitted to the SBCA and to highlight flaws promptly, in order to avoid any unfortunate situation in the future. He added that the field staff would continue carrying out a survey so as to highlight all the dilapidated buildings in the city.
