Islamabad: To launch Overs Pakistanis Saving Certificates (OPSCs) before the end of current fiscal year, the Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) is to hold a pre-bid conference on April 19 to select a bank as manager to issue (MTI) the certificates, reported a news source. Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Miftah Ismail has already given an approval to appoint the manager.
These saving certificates will be issued offshore only to the non-resident Pakistanis. Through OPSCs, the USD denominated certificates, the government hopes to collect up to USD 1 billion. Pakistan is among the few countries to not have issued such a project for its citizens residing overseas.
The pre-bid conference to select the manager to issue OPSCs will at held at Move n’ Pick Hotel on Thursday, April 19, 2018, for which CDNS have already been sent invites to financial institutes, international banks and investment institutes etc.
