Islamabad: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) recently launched a programme that aims to disburse 30,000 winter bags (weighing almost 180 tons) to vulnerable people in the areas of the country that are affected by the harsh winter weather — with the initiative falling under the auspices of the 2020 Winter Relief Project in Pakistan, according to news sources.
According to the communicated project plan, the province-wise distributions will be as follows:
- 8,000 winter bags are to be distributed in six districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Shangla, Chitral, Boner, Mansehra and Swat.
- 7,500 winter bags will be distributed in six districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K), including Muzaffarabad, Neelum, Haveli, Hattiyan Balam, Bagh and Mirpur.

- 7,500 winter bags are to be distributed in five districts of Gilgit-Baltistan, including Astore, Kharmang, Ghanche, Ghizer and Shigar.
- 7,000 bags will be distributed in four districts of Balochistan, including Ziarat, Kalat, Zhob and Pishin.
These winter bags include; two blankets, shawls (for men and women), five pairs of socks, gloves and caps, and the initiative is expected to benefit 150,000 individuals.

Minister of Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri has lauded the initiative and called it a proof of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to support humanitarian causes in Pakistan. He also assured that the federal government would extend its full cooperation in order to execute this initiative properly.
