Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan Alyani on Wednesday (July 8) announced that the construction work on the Sariab Road would start during the next 15 days; with work already underway on the development of a 5,000 kilometres long road network in the province, according to a news source.

The CM shared this information with the media during his visit to inspect the pace of ongoing development work at various projects, including the Nawa Killi Bypass, Urak Road, and Airport Road; as well as to monitor the beautification initiative geared to uplift Quetta’s outlook.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM stressed the need for the timely utilisation of the development funds allocated by the federal government under Public Sector Development Programme; directing the authorities concerned to share a monthly review report on their expenditure. He further ordered the officials to increase coordination among the departments concerned to complete the development work of ongoing schemes.

Alyani additionally warned the officials that unnecessary delays in the completion of the development schemes would not be tolerated; cautioning of legal penalties in any instances of tardiness. He revealed that the Balochistan government had already suspended a number of executive engineers and sub-divisional officers on accounts of negligence.
